Pencil grip left-handed

pencil gripWe have just taken delivery of a new design of pencil grip that has been designed by Dr Barbara Sattler and we think is better than all our previous ones.

It is made of very soft rubber so it fits over most pencils and pens and gives a great grip position. It can be used by left and right handers depending on where you place your thumb (lefties on the side marked L).

We have had them put into packs of 3 mixed colours as we know how easily they get lost or borrowed!

When I was in kindergarten my teacher gave eveyonenpencil grips AFTER we’d made up our own form. She saw that I was having a lot more trouble than the other kids, so she showed me how to use it. Not even bothering to notice that I was left handed, she tried to make me grip a pencil differntly. To this day I still hold my pencil strangely, with my thumb sticking out in between my first two fingers. I’m going into grade five, and I’m going to start to improve my grip with these.

I just wanted to thank you for all of your hard-work on this site. I myself am not left-handed, but my husband and three children are. I have had a learn how to teach a leftie to tie their shoes (differently from me), purchasing left-handed baseball gloves and catcher’s mitts and making sure they have pencils grips to make things a little easier. Thanks for all of your information and tips. I greatly appreciate it.

I ordered these. I’ve tried them myself, and I think they’re great. I work with disabled kids, and many of them are left-handed (I give your website to parents when I find that one of your products works particularly well for their child), so I’ve tried them out a little over the summer, but I haven’t had the chance to try them with the ones who tend to avoid pencil grips. I think they’ll like them because they’re lower profile. I’m hoping I get better compliance using these grips. Thanks!
